Microsoft Money 99 contains a number of interesting performance support features. The following screen shot show the Loan Planner Worksheet. The area on the right side of the screen contains instructions for completing each field. This information will change as the user moves the cursor to another field.

The following screen shot shows the embedded Money Help frame. The frame is embedded in the main Microsoft Money window. The width of the frame can be changed to accommodate the display of information in the main window. The help topics will change to match the contents of the main screen.

The layout and content of the list of reports facilitates rapid scanning while providing more detailed information about each report.

 

Instead of using pop-ups for definitions,  Money's Help reveals a definition with the help text. The following examples show the normal view of a help topic and the view when Bill Minder is clicked.  This technique has the advantage of not covering up the help topic. 

Some Money help topics also contain explanations that will appear within the text of the online help. The following examples illustrate the normal view of a help topic (right) and an expanded view (left) after a person click Why  

The following screen shot shows the field level help and advise that is based on the financial transactions a user records in Money. The figures at the bottom of the screen are updated as the user works through the tax calculator.
